Abstract

This study aimed to design and develop Permiso, an automated Leave Management System to improve the efficiency of leave application and approval processes at Notre Dame of Midsayap College (NDMC). Using a descriptive developmental research design, the system was created with Vue.js for the front-end, PHP (Laravel) for the back-end, and MySQL for data storage and
management. The study gathered input from NDMC’s faculty, staff, HRDMO personnel, and administrators to analyze the current manual process and collect requirements for the system. A total of 20 users evaluated the Permiso system. The HRDMO and School President, each represented by one respondent, rated it 4.41 and 4.65, respectively. Nine Office Heads and
Administrators gave a 4.69 rating, while nine Faculty and Staff rated it 4.52. These results show strong satisfaction and system effectiveness across all user groups. Key features of Permiso include online leave requests, multilevel approval workflows, digital signatures, real time status tracking, and comprehensive reporting. Findings demonstrate that Permiso significantly reduces
the time and errors involved in manual leave processing while improving transparency and decision-making. The system boosts HRDMO efficiency and user satisfaction by streamlining workflows and offering secure, paperless solutions. The study concludes that automating leave management is a practical approach to fixing inefficiencies in manual processes. It is recommended that NDMC adopt Permiso to modernize their leave management system, with future updates potentially incorporating other HR functions for full automation.
